The Luxembourg Institute for European and International Studies and the Embassy of Bulgaria to Luxembourg would like to invite you to a round table on Bulgaria and the European Union on Monday 27 April 2009 in Luxembourg.

The OBJECTIVE ambition of the meeting is to look at the REPERCUSSIONS impact, positive or negative, of EU membership for the various dimensions of the Bulgarian society: economic and social, political and strategic, but also mental and cultural. Is the membership a pure blessing, a mixed blessing or even likely to be a nuisance in some respects?

The participants will examine the situation of Bulgaria before its membership, the changes that have occurred since it has joined the EU and the tasks ahead. Finally, the experts will have a look at what might be the situation of the country, in the context of the EU, in 2025.

The organizers will cover the expenses for travel, accommodation and meals of the participants.
